Trou Aux Biches

Trou Aux Biches is a two-kilometre beach adjoined by the Casuarina trees and also houses luxury resorts, shopping centres and nightclubs. It is also one of the largest and cleanest beaches with beautiful sandy beaches and crystal bright turquoise sky-blue water. You can take part in several activities available on this beach like diving, snorkelling, scuba diving, skiing, parasailing and a glass-bottom boat. You can also view the bed of the ocean by taking a submarine tour. Unlike all other beaches in Mauritius, the beaches here aren’t crowded during weekends.

Chamarel Waterfalls

One of the most famous waterfalls in Mauritius, the Chamarel is a hundred m of cascading waterfalls. This rustic attraction spot is the perfect place for an Instagram-worthy photo. Watching the waterfall from high in the mountains is a breathtaking sight you must not miss out. Make sure you go up the stairs to the observation platform and enjoy the impressive waterfall as it hits the pool.

Black River Gorges National Park

Black River Gorges National Park is the largest national park on the island, and it is worth every minute that you spend here. The rainforest and the hills come collectively to offer the most desirable postcard-worthy sceneries you can think of. The park is readily accessible via several roads that head southwest to the island. You can find over 310 species of flora and fauna, and there are loads of hiking trails as well. Trou Aux Cerfs

The Trou Aux Cerfs is a 605 meters huge dormant volcano in Curepipe, Mauritius. It is called the Murr’s Volcano as its well-delineated basin is about 350 m in diameter and 80 meters deep. A few people believe the dormant volcano could become an active volcano anytime shortly. 

Tamarind Waterfalls

One waterfall is not like another; so is the Tamarind Waterfall. There is always something distinctive, and the Tamarind Waterfalls are the most excellent examples of nature’s brilliance. The waterfalls are a collection of seven cascades found on the River Tamarind, so they are called the Seven Cascades. It is one of the must-visit places to visit in Mauritius. It is known for experiences like trekking, hiking, canyoneering, swimming cliff jumping and birdwatching.  

Mauritius National Botanical Garden

If the scenic world around you mesmerizes, influences, and leaves you amazed, then the Mauritius National Botanical Garden is an unquestionably the must for you.  The Mauritius National Botanical Garden houses over 650 plant varieties covering a large area. You will be surprised that a French Governor inaugurated the garden during its colonial days, and it was initially a private garden.

Blue Bay Marine Park

Are you someone who loves the spray of water while coasting over the beach? For the enthusiastic water sports and snorkelling fanatic, the Blue Bay Marine Park is a must be a thing on your Mauritius vacation. Traversing the aquatic life underwater is an extraordinary and an enthralling experience to have in Mauritius. This marine park houses a wide diversity of sea-grasses, algae, and mangroves.

Maison Eureka

Built-in 1830, the Maison Eureka is a significant tourist spot in Moka, Central Mauritius. This ancient colonial residence of English and French aristocrats is now a museum dedicated to the colonialist age of Mauritius. With 109 doors and windows, it is recognised as the largest house on the island. You will be amazed at the museum with areas reserved for maps, music, art, Chinese and Indian houseware. Get prepared to discover the small waterfalls, lush ambience, diverse plants, Lake Moka, and the lavish gardens around the museum.

Grand Bassin

Near Port Louis, the Grand Bassin is the most heavenly place for the Hindus in Mauritius. Often called the Ganga Talao, this place is known for its grand Lord Shiva temples found 1800 feet above the sea. You can also worship Lord Hanuman and Lakshmi at their temples. The calm and the relaxing environment of the Grand Bassin attracts tourists to its doors in crowds repeatedly.

Chamarel Seven Colored Earth

Plan to visit the impressive Chamarel Seven Colored Earth where you can see dunes in different and distinct colours. If you’ve never observed red, brown, and purple sand, then this place must be on top of your itinerary. The dunes formed when volcanic rocks cooled down at different temperatures and mixed into the sand, making the sand around it picturesque.
